His passion for nature was ignited during his time as an engineer in the Royal Air Force (RAF), where he often found solace in the natural landscapes during his service. After completing his tenure in the RAF, Craig channeled his disciplined work ethic and technical skills into entrepreneurship, establishing his own window cleaning business. This venture not only flourished locally but also laid the foundation for what would become Ionic Systems, a globally recognised brand.

Under Craig's visionary leadership, Ionic Systems transformed into a manufacturer of premium pure water window cleaning systems, renowned for its innovative approach and quality. Its products, celebrated for their efficiency and reliability, are now exported to over 134 countries worldwide, setting a high standard in the industry.

Craig's son, Jack, grew up witnessing his father's journey from a window cleaner to a successful business owner. Inspired by his father's connection to nature and his entrepreneurial spirit, Jack developed a keen interest in both camping and innovation. Craig instilled in Jack a deep appreciation for nature from a young age. As Jack grew, so did their camping adventures, evolving from simple backyard escapades to exploring diverse terrains across the country. This shared love for camping brought them closer, binding them in a unique father-son camaraderie.

However, during their travels, they often encountered a recurring issue – the complexity and physical demands of setting up traditional tents. This challenge was not just a personal inconvenience but also a barrier that limited who could comfortably participate in camping. They noticed how this issue deterred many people, especially those who might find the physical aspect daunting, from experiencing the joy of camping.

Driven by a desire to make camping a more inclusive activity, one that people of all ages and abilities could enjoy, Craig and Jack embarked on a mission. Leveraging Craig's engineering expertise from his RAF days and his problem-solving skills honed through his entrepreneurial endeavours, combined with Jack's innovative mindset, they set out to revolutionise camping equipment.

After numerous trials, prototypes, and iterations, their efforts bore fruit in the form of the Swing Away Tent. This groundbreaking design is a game-changer in the camping world. Easy to set up, versatile, and most importantly, inclusive, the Swing Away Tent embodied Craig and Jack's vision. It removed the traditional barriers associated with tent setup, allowing a broader range of people to participate in camping and enjoy the beauty of the natural world.
