All are fitted with 13pin connectors and come with either 3mtr long coiled cables with 2 x 13pin plugs or 1 x 13pin & 1x 8pin plugs that you can specify when you order.

The combination lamps fitted to all Swing-Away tents comply fully with both UK and EU lighting regulations.

The flex Swing-Away tent weighs 60kg and is supplied with wheels for easy movement to and from the carrying vehicle. Once connected to the vehicle the tent is easily lifted and lowered by 2 people, however a stronger individual can manage the movement without too much effort as the vehicle connection shares the load.

The Gentle Swing-Away tent weights just 20kg and is very easily managed off the vehicle by 2 people. Once connected to the vehicle the already low weight is very easily managed by one person.

The maximum load rating is 100kg, however the working load should be limited to 60kg.

None of the Swing-Away arms are designed or rated for towing and therefore trailers should be connected under any circumstances.

With the clamping mechanism correctly adjusted each leg is rated to support a static load of 125kg, all six must be used to
support the tent when in use. Dynamic loads that may be exerted due to certain extra-curricular activities are difficult to calculate and therefore you should consider the tent to be stable only for sitting and sleeping in.

No tent should be considered safe in strong winds and therefore user discretion is advised. If strong winds are anticipated, then extra security can be achieved by using your vehicle as a wind brake and using guy ropes. During storms or in winds of over 20mph seeking alternative accommodation is strongly advised.

Although extra stability is gained when the tent is left connected to the vehicle, these tents can be pitched independently of the vehicle as desired.

The tent is most easily levelled by means of its adjustable legs whilst still connected to the vehicle. Once levelled the tent may be disconnected and used in the free-standing position. The Flex tent comes with a ‘bullseye’ levelling sight gauge that makes levelling child’s play.

Flex comes with a pair of wheels that can be attached to the tent to make it easy to roll the tent to a secure place for storage, i.e. your garage. We offer a key locking wall bracket to hold the tent securely against any wall. The same bracket can be used to secure the Gentle Swing-away tent also.
